Your first session with Lorelle will include a detailed intake conversation, an individualized acupuncture treatment, and recommendations for dietary therapies, herbal remedies and subtle lifestyle shifts.

During the intake conversation, you’ll be discussing any health challenges or symptoms you’re experiencing, your goals for acupuncture treatment, and a review of your systems from a traditional Chinese medical perspective.

That conversation will inform your acupuncture treatment. While you lie on a comfortable bed, Lorelle will insert hair-thin needles into specific points in your body chosen to help facilitate your system’s ability to heal and achieve balance. Most people find this treatment painless and extremely relaxing. Many people fall asleep.

You’ll remain with the needles for about 20 to 25 minutes, during which time you are welcome to nap, listen to music or other sounds, or meditate. Lorelle will step out of the room, but you’ll have a call button you can press any time you need to.

At the end of your acupuncture treatment, Lorelle will return, remove the needles, and check in with you to see how you’re feeling post-treatment.

Most people report benefits from acupuncture that go beyond addressing the symptoms they initially came in with, including better sleep, more resistance to stress, improved focus and increased energy.

And the honest answer: Sometimes. Not usually. Most of the time, not at all.

If patients report feeling anything when an acupuncture needle is inserted, it’s usually a mild and momentary pinch. Once in a while, a needle will continue feeling uncomfortable even after the moment of insertion. In that case, you should just let Lorelle know, and she’ll either remove the needle or adjust it so that it stops bothering you.

Many patients fall asleep during their sessions. A good rule of thumb about whether to report a needle bothering you is to consider whether the discomfort is enough to get in the way of drifting off the sleep. If it is—speak up!

My standard fee for an established patient visit (60 minutes) is $125.

My standard fee for a new patient visit (70 minutes) is $150.

My sliding scale for all acupuncture visits is $75-$150. The sliding scale is open to anyone who needs it.

While I no longer work with any health insurance plans, I can always provide you with a claims form that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
